“For I know the plans I have for you…
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
Plans to give you a hope and a future.” – Jeremiah writing in 626 BCE

Hello Friend!

If you’re reading this, there is a good chance that you, or someone close to you, either is or thinks they might be pregnant.  Maybe this was what you always dreamed of happening.  What you’ve been hoping and trying for.  Or maybe you thought you might want kids someday.  But not right now.  Or maybe you never saw yourself as a parent at all and this is the last thing you wanted.  Regardless of what direction you are coming from, or which direction you’re currently heading, this space is for you.  These words are for you.  Because everyone has a dream of some kind.  Everyone hopes for something.  It may be in the near future.  Maybe you hope and dream about making it to the weekend.  Or just the end of the work day or the end of class.  Maybe you have big dreams that you know will take years to achieve, but you don’t mind because it will be worth it.

Maybe you’re excited.  But maybe you feel a bit, or a lot, afraid.  Maybe you’re both at once.  Maybe you’re wondering if you should keep this baby.  Maybe an abortion feels like your next right step.  Maybe it feels impossible to achieve your dreams if a little pink line interrupts them.  But hold fast dear one.  Pause.  Breathe.  The future may not follow the exact path that you pictured before you realized you were a week late or forgot to use a condom or ran out of birth control.  Come see us.  Let us help you figure out what your best next step can be.  Let us help you learn to hold more than one dream at a time.  The future may not be as straight a line as you had thought.  But the reality is, it never really was.  Life is always messy.  It’s beautiful and scary and wonderful and complicated always.  And if you’re feeling overwhelmed, congratulations; you’re human and you’re in very good company.  We don’t promise to have all the answers here.  No mortal does.  But we can promise to love you.  To listen to you.  To be a safe space.  A place to hope.

Blessings,

Chelsea
